My test speach at club 59.
Hi, this is Jill!
Not sure if you all know but I signed up to be the test speaker for club 59. They meet at Kitsilano Yacht Club on Mondays. This I know you do know… I have been a member of Burrard TM for a bout a year and have been progressing. I must say, I feel in my bones the improvements. Thanks to your great support. Tonight, I hit a milestone. I ventured off and spoke to about 25 ppl that were strangers to me. Now, if you know my personality, you would think this is a piece of cake for me. Again, public speaking is NO piece of cake. Thanks to you,all your support and guidance, I walked into a room full of strangers like a super star! I ROCKED! With your great evaluations, I tuned my last speech “Transferable skills” up and went to town!
I could not believe the response! WOW! I was a pro! Thanks guys! I am still very excited as I type!
Last year at this time, I could never talk in-front of strangers. I mean, when I joined TM, you were a stranger to me and I could only talk for less than a minute. Now, I LOVE it. I felt good. Really good. I gave my self a pat on the back on my way home. “Ya did good!”, I said to my self.
I hope this inspires you to take on some challenges today. The satisfaction you will get is priceless!

Tanya’s suggestion /Timing
Tanya.. we miss you here..:)
Here is a great link Tanya has and some great tips:
1. Write out your speech using Word or other text program.
2. Convert to 16 point Times Roman with 1-1/2 line spacing.
3. You will find it easy to read.
4. At normal speed (slow down) it should work out to 2-1/2 minutes
per page.
5. Use bold or underline to highlight your ‘stepping off’ words for
each phrase or thought.
